Going to buy Airconditioner ? Check this point when you go to AC Shop.

  • Dimension: Check the dimension of indoor & outdoor units, it must fit into the available space at installation location. For safer side select machine in the range of 2-inch smaller size than your measured space.
  • Fixed speed or Inverter?

Fixed Speed compressor- ON or Off type, it runs on fixed maximum speed when turned ON & switched off when cooling demand reaches its set point.

Inverter compressor – Compressor speed gradually increase or decrease automatically as per the cooling load requirement in the room.

Though fixed speed AC will come at some lower price (around 5K to 7K less than inverter) but in terms of energy consumption & efficient cooling the Inverter AC is the best option.

As you know the air conditioners are one of the most power consuming device. An inverter AC can save upto 10% to 12% on energy consumption if compared to fixed speed.

Let’s say 5k-8k Rs. saving in a year as per your usage.

  • Evaporator & condenser tube material– Copper is most preferred material for both the heat exchange. Almost all brands supply copper evaporator. While for condenser tube there are always option between Aluminum alloy & copper.

Copper is most efficient, long lasting & require low maintenance.

Ask for Blue fin coating or  other available anticorrosive coating for condenser tubes if you live in high humidity coastal areas.

  • Star Rating/SEER rating: Higher the SEER value lesser the energy consumption. A little more initial investment to be preferred over buying lower SEEER rating machines. You will get paid back extra money that you have invested in short time by means of saving in electricity bills.

Go for 3-star & above as per your budget.

  • Look & feel: AC is not the smaller object that can be overlooked, it takes a good amount of space in your room & outdoor. Select a design with nicely finished panel & curved profile which suits as per your interior design, aesthetic & colors.
  • Features & control options: Check for the basic features that almost all modern air conditioner remotes should have like Cool Mode, Fan Mode, Dry Mode, Auto mode, Eco Mode, Turbo Mode, Self-cleaning mode, Timer setting, Sleep mode etc.

Check for some other useful feature as per your budget & requirement like Follow me function, Smart diagnosis with mobile app, Wifi connectivity, voice control etc.

If you are the one who prefer more cleaner air, Many air-conditioning provider coming up with better Air filtration options like High density filters, UV filters etc.

  • Warranty:  Should be 10 Years on compressor, 5 years on PCB and 1 year on product.
  • After Sales service: Your supplier must provide after sales servicing & Annual maintenance contract. Go for authorized brand/dealer which have good service network in your region.
